Homework due Week 7 (Friday 20th March)

  • HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Caitlin Clementson from Room 11 who's 100 word story was awarded a 'Showcase Special'.  This means she was one of 25 pupils from around the world to be selected out of over 100 entries.  It was a beautiful piece of writing and can be viewed at the following place....... http://room11bg.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/caitlin-day-ill-never-forget.html Please feel free to comment, I'm sure she'd love to hear your thoughts

  • 100 w.c.

The prompt this week is:
…as they turned the corner…
Do think about your story before you start to write. A plan can help make sure you get in all your ideas and that they make sense. When you have written it, ‘mumble’ read it to yourself to check that it says what you think it does!
  • This weeks 5 sentence challenge is a photo.  Who do you think might live here? What kind of journey would they need to go on to get here?  Don't forget to brainstorm.
  • Swimming is now finished so pupils should bring spare P.E. clothes on Monday and Thursday as these are now our sports days.
  • Spelling words to be learnt for Wed
  • Math-a-thon - all pupils have their math-a-thon questions stapled into their homework diaries.  They get tested on these each Friday.  Please go over these questions with your child at some point during the week.
  • Sumdog - 10 mins per night
  • Any tournament notices are now outstanding - please ask your child if they need to return one to school.
Finally, I am on a school camp next week with Room 15. Peter Fitzgerald is the reliever for the week in Room 11 and he is a very experienced teacher.  I will be out of email contact during the week so if you ahve any queries/concerns, please direct them to Sue at the front office and she will inform the appropiate member of staff to help you.
