• 100wc - The prompt this week has been set by Year 6 at Nine Mile Ride Primary SchoolThey have chosen five words for you to include in your writing. They can go anywhere and in any order. The words are:

• 5sc - this time we have a busy picture, choose something in it that you would like to write about

• Spelling words (List 6) to be learnt for Thursday (these have been sent through google doc)
• Today everyone brought home a letter for our upcoming skype night.  Please read and return asap
• Extra PE gear to school each Mon, Tue and Wed

• Extra PE clothing to be brought to school Tue, Wed, Thur
• Diary signed for Tuesday
• Math-a-thon revision for Fri (stapled inside diary)

• 100wc due Thur- This week I lost my wifi connection at home. I was in a real state which was quite worrying that life can be so dependant on the internet. Anyway, the good thing was that a local coffee shop let me use their connection and I was able to get it all done.

So, I am using that experience for this week’s prompt and it is:

Things to consider:
What / who was being connected to what?
Why would it be a problem if it was broken?
What happened after the connection was broken?

Homework due Week 6 (Fri 11th March)

• Please note that due to Easter following in our Term time this year, we are on holiday on Friday, Monday and Tuesday
• House Captain, Class Leader and Sports Leader speeches are taking place this week.  If your child is putting themselves forward for one of these positions, please encourage them at home by listening to their speech.
• We are no longer swimming as part of our sport.  This will be replaced by small/large ball skills.  Can you please ask your child to put a separate sports top in their bag each Mon, Tue and Wed so that they can change into.  If they do not have a BIS one, they can bring an alternative sports top
• Diaries signed for Tue

• Spelling words to be learnt for Thur
• Math-a-thon - have a look at questions in diary (these are stapled in front page) in order to be ready for maths on FRIDAY
• 100wc: please send from google doc as..... Week 6 (title of story) by........

This week we have a photograph for you to look at. It is a statue of 3 men talking.

Things to think about before writing:

• Look at how they are dressed?
• What country might they be in?
• What jobs do they do?
• What could they be talking about?
• Are they happy/worried/concerned?

• 5 Sentence Challenge :

This time we have a photo. It is of a sculpture that you can see in the grounds of Tewkesbury Abbey.

I want you to look really closely at the children. What do you notice? Are they playing a game? What might they be saying to each other?

Take great care with your sentences and make sure they have a full stop and a capital letter. I’ll let you decide where they go!

• I am on a course on Friday and will not be in school.  Peter Fitzgerald will be relieving for me for the day.  If you wish to speak to me about anything, please do so before Thursday.
• Bridge Valley Trip nex Monday - please make sure that you have the following items with you 
  Suitable mufti clothes suitable for playing sport in (school PE uniform is OK)
  Sports shoes
  Warm top
  Rain jacket
  Sun hat
  Drink bottle
  Lunch with snacks
  Medication if needed
  TOGS AND TOWEL
  We are planning on leaving at 8.50am SHARP. So make sure you are at school on time, otherwise you may miss out.  $2 also needs to be given to Mrs Parker asap so that she can distribute this among the drivers for their petrol.
