Homework due Week 2 (Fri 23rd October)

  • We have our people savers course this Wednesday so we will not be learning spelling words this week.  All pupils will have new words ready to be alearnt for NEXT Wednesday.
  • I need to see all waterproof jackets by this Friday please as I need to ensure that all pupils have one ready for camp.
  • one packet biscuits and one tin of fruit due into school by Friday NEXT WEEK.  I will obviously take these if they come in before that date.
  • A reminder that next Monday and Tuesday our school is closed for both the long weekend and a teacher only day.  When we are on class camp, we will be tenting on one of the nights - boys will go out one evening, followed by girls on the next evening.  For this to happen, we need tents and roll mats.  Ideally, 3-4 man tents would be great, however, if we need to take the larger tents we will.  These need to be nylon tents though, not canvas.  We also require roll mats.  If you are able to provide either of these, could you please send them to school on Wednesday next week (or earlier). I would like the class to pitch them and also make sure that they are adequate for sleeping in :)
  • A reminder also that camp needs to be paid for in full by the end of Week 3

Wow, its great to be back in the class again:)  I have a great time away on camp with Room 15 - we are going to have sisch a giggle when we go on our camp in Novermber :) !!

This is obviously a short week this week so I have only included 2 main homework's - spelling and maths:

  • Sports choices to be made by Wed (these were handed out today - Monday). Please note that some sports require payment.  If there are any fees outstanding, your child will not be permitted to participate in a sport with payment.
  • Studyladder - twice this week for min 10 mins each session (I am going to get the kids to use Studyladder now instead of Sumdog for their maths homework - they may continue to use Sumdog as some 'fun maths' in their own time, but I get better information about your child's progress through the Studyladder programme)
  • Spelling words to be learnt for Wed

Do think about your story before you start to write. A plan can help make sure you get in all your ideas and that they make sense. When you have written it, ‘mumble’ read it to yourself to check that it says what you think it does!
  • This weeks 5 sentence challenge is a photo.  Who do you think might live here? What kind of journey would they need to go on to get here?  Don't forget to brainstorm.
  • Swimming is now finished so pupils should bring spare P.E. clothes on Monday and Thursday as these are now our sports days.
  • Spelling words to be learnt for Wed
  • Math-a-thon - all pupils have their math-a-thon questions stapled into their homework diaries.  They get tested on these each Friday.  Please go over these questions with your child at some point during the week.

  • Any tournament notices are now outstanding - please ask your child if they need to return one to school.
Finally, I am on a school camp next week with Room 15.
